Introduction for Non-lawyers

The primary purpose of all of these cases, even though California law does have damages as a remedy, is to get things fixed, and by "fixed" we mean make things accessible for disabled persons. We don't even take any portion of our client's damages as fees. Whatever we negotiate for our client or get at trial, that goes to the client. We use entirely statutory attorney's fees.

Doing this kind of work allows you to feel good about your law degree. I have always felt that trial lawyers are indeed the warriors who can protect the public interest against the commercial powers who will make needed changes only when forced to.
